Data protection policy

Data protection policy of I.E.M.

The data protection policy set by I.E.M. refers to all our business areas, in particular, internet and ehealth services. With the use of personal data, we of course work exclusively within the framework of the provisions set out in data protection law. In the following, we will inform you about the type, scope and purpose of collection and use of personal data.

Personal data protection

This applies to names, dates of birth, telephone numbers, email and residential addresses and other data which are used to identify a person.

I.E.M. does not record any personal data without first gaining the consent of the person concerned.

For all of the data where consent has been given for recording, I.E.M. guarantees the observance of internationally recognised standards of data protection. I.E.M. ensures that their staff, who process the sensitive data, satisfy security and confidentiality standards.

Use of personal data

Below we explain how and when I.E.M. collects and records personal data:

Registration is required to receive the I.E.M. offered ehealth services or access the dealer forums. In addition, users need to authenticate themselves with a user name and password. Access will be denied if during the registration process the compulsory fields are not filled in.

I.E.M. records personal data only for specific, limited purposes. The persons concerned are informed about this upon registration and for any other enquiries. This data is needed for normal business processes such as the delivery of products and services, or for billing purposes. We do also use this data in order to offer interesting products and services or simply to stay in touch with you.

Important: The information and personal data which is obtained by I.E.M. customer service is used exclusively for troubleshooting customer issues and is otherwise kept confidential.

I.E.M. stores the personal data for only as long as necessary and for the stated purposes in compliance with the statutory and ethical obligations in maintaining confidentiality.

Non-disclosure of personal data

I.E.M. fundamentally avoids selling personal data to third parties, to distribute or to make otherwise accessible for either a fee or free of charge. In exceptional cases, personal data must however sometimes be passed to third parties. Partner companies may need, if necessary, personal data to be able to accomplish tasks for us, or on our behalf, which are in line with the underlying purpose of recording.

I.E.M. will ensure that these partners comply, to an equivalent standard as I.E.M, to data protection policy with high security standards. If necessary, we will contractually ensure that the given data will only be used for the expressed purposes as stated by I.E.M.

I.E.M. will only forward sensitive personal data, for example medical information, to third parties if the person concerned has previously and expressly for this purpose given their consent.

Consent for the disclosure of such data may at any time be revoked by the person concerned. In the event of revocation I.E.M. will inform and request the third party to delete the data immediately.

Security and confidentiality

To ensure the security and confidentiality of the I.E.M. online recorded personal data sets, I.E.M. uses data networks which are equipped with standardised firewalls and password protection. I.E.M. employees gain access to personal data only after completing careful training in dealing with sensitive data, and even then, only if required by your specific task. In addition, they are required to strictly observe the principles of security and confidentiality. Should an employee violate our security and confidentiality principles, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken. In addition, I.E.M staff are regularly monitored and tested about confidentiality principles and procedures. Although I.E.M. can not 100% guarantee loss, misuse or alteration of data, we do everything in our power to avoid such incidents.

Data transmission and recording for intra-system and statistical purposes

For technical reasons, your Internet browser automatically transmits data to our web server when you access our website. It includes the date and time of access, the URL of the referring website, the called up file, amount of data sent, browser type and version, operating system and your IP address. This data is stored separately from other data within the framework of using our site. A mapping of this data to specific individuals is not possible. This data is evaluated for statistical purposes and then deleted.

Links to other sites

The presently described data privacy policy only applies to I.E.M. web pages and excludes pages of third party websites. I.E.M. refers to further interesting websites via links. We try to ensure as far as possible that the sites associated with the I.E.M. website meet the highest demands. Given the nature of the World Wide Web it is not possible to guarantee the high standard of all websites that are hyperlinked through the I.E.M site. Also, no liability is taken for non-I.E.M web pages.
